ARE YOU IN SEC'S HOUSE DISTRICT 41?
It's time to get something done.
You don’t have to wonder what policies Sara-Elizabeth will move forward in Frankfort. This November, don’t vote for fuzzy platitudes with no actionable plan behind them. Vote for real change.
I grew up in the shadow of the largest nuclear power plant in the United States. For me, living near a nuclear power plant is as safe and normal as living near a Ford plant. Currently, no nuclear power reactors are in construction in the United States. That’s unacceptable. Our exploratory task force is a great start– now, let’s set up Kentucky as a leader in the only zero-emission baseload energy source available.
When I say “school choice,” I specifically mean whatever it takes to enable the minority children of Jefferson County to access an education that will help them break the cycle of poverty. Gap-busting public charters. Zip code-specific vouchers. Means-tested measures. We owe it to the current generation to craft quality legislation to rescue them from being trapped in failure.
MAP and state tests discourage our kids, waste instructional time, were not developed to measure learning, encourage superficial thinking, have little to do with the quality of instruction, and hurt our most vulnerable learners the worst. We need to eliminate testing for kindergarten, first grade, and newly arrived English-language learners except by parent/teacher request and allow opt-out for testing at all levels.
If we want change, we must change direction. It’s time to hear new voices in the public square.
Louisville’s 41st District, stretching from George Rogers Clark Park through the vibrant Highlands over to Hikes Point, has spent decades sending radical Democrats to Frankfort. Their passionate, insulting speeches have rung through the House floor, and as the anonymous quote goes,
When the debate is lost, slander becomes the tool of the loser.
Sure enough, those who have the power to address District 41’s problems stopped listening to us a long time ago. It’s time to take a stand on common-sense, compassionate policies. If you’re tired of being ignored, know this: it’s time to send them one of their own, who is also one of you.
